Friends of Princeton Open Space

multiple diatom images Founded in 1969, we are a non-profit, tax-exempt organization devoted to environmental protection and the preservation of open space in the Princeton, NJ area. Our goals include raising funds to assist in acquisition of easements, the purchase lands for permanent open space, and fostering understanding of nature through programs in the Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve. We actively promote maintenance, publicity and stewardship of existing Princeton parks and open spaces. We advocate land use that respects the natural constraints of the land while meeting the needs of all our citizens.
